Data controller

Sustaino AS (org.nr. 936 351 174) is the data controller for personal data processed via sustaino.no.

What we collect

We keep data collection deliberately minimal:

  • Consent preferences — stored in your browser via localStorage under the key cookie_consent_v1. Used only to remember your cookie choices.
  • Server logs — our hosting provider (Vercel) records IP address, user agent and request path for each visit. Used for security, abuse prevention and basic operational monitoring. Retained for up to 30 days.
  • Analytics — sustaino.no does not currently load any analytics or tracking scripts. If we enable Google Analytics 4 in the future, it will only run after you opt in via the cookie banner, and this policy will be updated.
  • Email contact — when you email us via the address on this site, we process the contents of your message and your reply address to respond. We do not add you to any marketing list.

Legal basis

  • Necessary cookies and server logs — legitimate interest (GDPR art. 6 (1)(f)).
  • Analytics — explicit consent (GDPR art. 6 (1)(a)), via the cookie banner.
  • Email correspondence — performance of a request initiated by you (GDPR art. 6 (1)(b)).

Data processors

We use the following sub-processors, which may store data outside Norway/EEA under appropriate transfer mechanisms:

  • Vercel Inc. — hosting and CDN (USA, EU regions). Privacy policy
  • Sanity.io — content management backend (USA, EU dataset). Privacy policy
  • Google LLC — analytics (only if/when enabled and you opt in; not currently active). Privacy policy

You can change your consent at any time using the cookie icon in the lower-left corner of any page.

Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time

Contact ole@sustaino.no to exercise these rights. You may also file a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of this page along with a new "Last updated" date.
